More Art Than You Know What to Do With

I may have been a little sassy about it, but I'm looking forward to seeing some fresh art tonight at the Cornish College of the Arts BFA show. For example, these are two people I'm really looking forward to talking to:

Justin R. Lytle, whose work reminds me of my friend Clay Franks; but at times they both remind me of Kwang-Young Chun

John Ruszel has a lovely thing going with tension sculptures, which remind me a little of Eric Eley

The important thing to remember is criticism aside, this is the single dedicated art school in the city. All of us - critics, artists, and writers - should hit this show en masse every year because there's always something unexpectedly mind blowing. And it's fun!

Also tonight, you may want to catch artist Emily Pothast singing with her band, Midday Veil.

On her blog today she says:

" grab a bite to eat and whatever else you need to get you through a night of experimental music and enchanted jams from my band Midday Veil at Night 4 of the Seattle Occultural Music Festival, which begins at 10 p.m. at the Rendezvous Jewel Box Theatre. Yes, it’s true what they say: this show WILL swallow you whole. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. "

I'm sure there's a lot more going on tonight I'm not covering. What will you be doing tonight?
