LxWxH is an extension of my previous project Artomaton, which lasted from 2006 to 2008. The concept is an artist-driven public project based on the discussion and promotion of locally-based art and literature. Dimensions Variable/LxWxH's primary function is to engage artists and viewers together through art and philosophy using the website as access to an artistic community. Artists will participate collectively to distribute a quarterly box, which subscribers will be able to purchase on the website. Meanwhile the site is a platform for the art blog to bring art off the gallery wall and into readers' everyday lives.
I am currently revamping the project to work more closely with artists and bring DIY philosophies/guerrilla tactics to make art accessible, fun, sustainable, and affordable. This is not a new idea, but it will hopefully be a different approach towards making art enjoyable to everyone, regardless of whether or not you are an artist, a collector, an enthusiast, a proletariat, or revolutionary.
